Welcome to the complex world of jazz fusion. An endlessly fascinating world where
anything can blend with jazz from rock and pop to latin or even folk. Our aim is to
bring the astonishing music of artists such as Chick Corea, Steely Dan, Dave
Weckl, Bob Berg, Mike Stern, Frank Zappa and others to the music scene in the
south east.
ToKaMaK is a five piece band - sax, guitar, keys, bass & drums. We’ve been
rehearsing and gigging for six years and our love of the genre has blossomed.
It’s highly-arranged, tightly-performed, exciting and inspiring. Not to mention
slightly self indulgent. And the doughnut? Well, ToKaMaK is the Russian acronym
for an experimental nuclear fusion generator - shaped like a doughnut.
